Reading for Information

The Kakapo Reading Group in Te Māuru-e-taki-nei have been learning to how we can read to find information and facts. This week they have been learning about the Sun.

Buddy Reading

We are very lucky in Te Ope Ruaraki. Each morning some wonderful seniors come down and read with us, they are helping us to get better at reading. We love it when they come and read with us.

Hero Certificates

Congratulations to Kahu, Treyvon, Kobe, Liam and Adhithi who received Hero Certificates at Celebration Assembly yesterday.
Lots of great reasons - choosing the right attitude, using Learning Powers and People Powers, and outstanding progress in learning.
We are so proud of you all.

Battle War

This morning in Te Māuru-e-taki-nei a group of boys decided to get creative with the rods and blocks and make a battle ground.  It was great to see the collaboration and co-operation as they worked together without any problems.

First Flight

Today The Very Hungry Caterpillar read a story called First Flight. Before we opened the book we had a think about the words we might find in the story. It was fun finding the words as we read. The story was about a boy called Kel who was going on a plane all by himself. After we read the story, we decided to draw a plane and write down some feelings we thought we might feel if we were to go on a plane by ourselves.

Let us know what you think of our work.

Akeilah, Sophia, Gracie, Liam and Raquel.

Congratulations

Congratulations to all these wonderful students who were presented with a Sam Smiler badge at Celebration Assembly yesterday.  Consistently using their People Powers and Learning Powers - you guys are awesome!

Fire

In Te Māuru-e-taki-nei we are talking about being Firewise.
This week we talked about how fire can be helpful for cooking, lighting, heating, celebrating and burning rubbish.
Here are a couple of stories.
