Lexie and her dog

Check out this gorgeous photo of Lexie with her dog Phoenix. They are great mates and Lexi has even written a story about Phoenix.

Lexi, I am so impressed with your story! I can see you have listened carefully and written down the sounds you heard. You even remembered your capital letter at the beginning of your sentence and a full stop at the end. Kai pai.

Adam has been baking

Adam has sent us a photo of his scrummy date scones.

They look delicious Adam! I bet you enjoyed eating them as much as you enjoyed making them.

Miss Sofia loves drawing

Look at this brilliant drawing from Sofia. She has completed a follow up activity from a book she read. What a brilliant picture you have drawn all by yourself. I love getting your home learning emails.

Check out the dessert she made for her family. When I showed my Tommy he said, "Can we have dessert like that tonight mum?"
I think I need your recipe Sofia.

I bet everyone in your family loved your dessert.

Keep up the great work gorgeous girl.

Here is the book Enzo told us about this morning

Enzo has put a lot of work into his book about plants, animals and toys.

He really enjoyed drawing the pictures and writing about the topics.

Then he put his book together with string.

Friday Google meet

 Good morning chickens,

                                                         Tomorrow is daffodil day.

Why don't we all bring something yellow to share at our meet tomorrow morning.

It might be a toy that is yellow or something yellow to wear. I bet there is lots of things you could find in your house that are yellow. You might be clever and build something that is yellow out of lego. You might even draw a picture that is yellow or find a book that you love that is yellow.

I can't wait to see what you might wear or bring tomorrow morning.

Don't forget when you first come onto the google meet to bring your smile and mute your microphone.

We love to see you all.

Thank you so much to all the wonderful parents who are supporting your children to join our meets each morning. It is fantastic to see such a great turn out and to touch base with you all.

See you all in the morning.

Marvellous Miracle

Miracle loves to learn the letters of the alphabet at school and he is loving learning the letters of the alphabet at home too. I love it when clever people are able to show learning from school to their adult at home.

Go you Miracle!!!!!     Your work ethic is incredible.

Check out all the letters Miracle can match using magnetic letters at home.

Keep being flash Miracle. We are all proud of you.

Another Fantastic Showing at Our Google Meet!

As time goes on more and more of you are becoming proficient Meet users.  Remember the etiquette of mute and hand raised.  This is working well for most of us.

A couple of points:

  • If by chance you  didn't receive a Home Learning pack yesterday, please email your homeroom teacher.
  • Please let us know if you are having trouble logging onto Sunshine Classics, it is great to see that people are using this facility to maintain their reading abilities.
  • The Teachers and Teacher Aides have meetings online prior to 10.00 am, please be aware that we will start accepting you into the Meet after 9.56am. Thanks for your cooperation.

Enjoy the sunshine today,  the weather forecast for the next few days doesn't look as great!

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Li-Chuen has been very busy!

Li-Chuen has just started school - it is great to see you practising your learning at home.

It's important too that you get outside for some fresh air, especially as we have had a few days of incredible weather. Li-Chuen went out into the garden yesterday and found a ladybird, then she added it to her picture.

Great to see you wearing a helmet.  Keep practising.

Look at all the different activities Li-Chuen is doing to keep herself busy.

Wow! Inline skating, making desserts, noodles, maths games, using cutting skills, mazes, drawing, games, reading and Li-Chuen has been watching the Animal Alphabet song and learning the names and letters of the alphabet.

She then drew a cake with rainbow icing.  It looks delicious Sofia.

Monday 23rd August - Week 5

What a fantastic turn out we had today!

Some are having technical difficulties, we are about to email another link for the remainder of the week.  Hopefully this will help.  Please feel free to email us if this still proves problematic and we will try and work through these teething issues.

We are trying to give everyone a chance to talk, so please be patient.  Apologies to those that may feel they didn't have an opportunity.  This is a steep learning curve for all involved.  We are very impressed with all the muted microphones - well done to all the adults and students who have managed this.

We had Matilda join us today, this would have been her first day at school - she did look very smart in her school uniform.  Welcome Matilda.

Mason and his home learning!

Mason it is lovely to see what you are doing at home! Go you.   Keep practising.

Friday 20th Google Meet #2

What a fantastic turn out today! At one point we had 17 students attending our Google Meet.  Once again thank you to all the adults helping our students connect.  We have already developed some great knowledge on the etiquette of the Meet.  Ms Clothier revisited some of the points on the workings of this just to remind everyone.  This will enable each and everyone of us to have a chance to interact with each other once we gain some on-screen confidence.

We had some students share their home workings with enthusiasm, great work, keep it up!   As Ms Clothier says send us your work and we can share it on the blog.

Ms Courtney is on her DFI course today, but managed to join us for our Meet. Great to see the other adults from the hub as well, Mrs Parker, Mrs Manson, Ms Ruru, Ms Lana and Mrs Moriarty.

Looking ahead to next week, we will update you as information comes to hand.  Enjoy your time at home with family, stay safe.
