Read the poem again.
Can you sing it to the tune on the poem?
Can you find the word 'the' in the poem.
You could write the on the concrete outside with chalk.
You could write the on paper or in a writing book.
How many different ways can you think of to write the?
Sometimes we sharpen our pretend pencils in class (its just our fingers not really a writing tool but we love to pretend) and we write words in the air or on our knees or on our hands or on our foot. The good thing about an imaginary pencil is it doesn't leave a mark but it is good to practise with.
See if you can write the
fast and slow,
big and small
neatly and wobbly.
The is a good word to learn to write fast and then you don't even need to think about it when you have to write it in a story because you already know how to write the.
If you have time draw a picture of the weather outside your window today.
Ask an adult to email your picture to me. I can post your pictures on our blog. I'd love to see your beautiful pictures. You could even email some of the ways you wrote the. Maybe a photo of you writing the on paper or in a book or you practising to write the in the air. I can't wait to see your emails.
