Today we were super proud of Tyler, Caleb and Kahu as they went to represent South Hornby in the Zones Athletics.  They were the only Year 3's in the school team with the Seniors.
Well done on winning the 8 year old's relay (with Noah from the Seniors)!

Ariana the Puppy

This morning Ella-Pearl's mum brought in one of their puppies, Ariana.  She was so cute, cuddly, soft and adorable!
We just fell in love with her - Mrs Cutler especially like the cuddle with her.
Thank you Ella-Pearl for letting us see her.

Mrs Murray's Hair

Today in Te Ope Ruaraki we wrote about Mrs Murray's hair. Our focus was WOW words. First we had a good think about some different words to describe Mrs Murray's hair, it was so fun. Some of us even touched it to see what it felt like.

Here are some of our brilliant stories.

Mrs Murray's hair is boofy and short it is also curly and twirly. I think it is hard to brush. It's so beautiful that I want curly hair. - Akeilah

Mrs Murray's hair is dry. It is curly, messy and bouncy. Mrs Murray's hair is brown. - Briana

Mrs Murray's hair is curly and twirly. Her hair is springy and swirly like a vine in the jungle. I like the way that it bounces up and down like a spring. - Tia

Mrs Murray has curly hair and it's like a bouncy vine. It looks like wobbly jelly on a plate and also her hair is brown. - Naomi

River Rapids Ride

Today we read a book Called River Rapids Ride. The water slide looked so cool so we decided to recreate the slide. It's no wonder Luke was scared, look at all those bends and twirls!

Firefighter visit

Today in Te Ope Ruaraki the firefighters from our local fire station came to visit us. They read us a story, brought their fire engine in and even let us climb inside for a look. We learnt a lot about what firefighters do to help people and animals. Here are some photos from their visit today.
