Hugo's maths tasks

Thank you Hugo for working on maths activities today.  Here is a photo of Hugo sorting his toys into size.  I wonder if other children in Te Ope Ruaraki did something similar. 




Hugo counted 7 tomatoes in the picture. 

He correctly counted the apple cucumbers to be 11 and need 4 more to make them 15.

Hugo counted 19 figs using skipping by 5 method.   

Narisa (Hugo’s mum) suggested making fig jam/ marmalade and store them for the winters.

Thank you Narisa for the recipe idea I will let you know how I get on.

    Hugo you are fantastic. So awesome to see your happy face. I love how clever you are at organising your toys into height order. Maths can be so much fun. Your mum had some good ideas for the extra figs Mrs Gatehouse has. What a great idea. Mrs Gatehouse is a fabulous cook.
